Fire Safety Trainer
2nd Jul 2021
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Fire Safety Trainer to join our very experienced, well established and friendly team.
The ideal candidate would initially be required to work on an ad-hoc (i.e. as required) basis, with a view to the role possibly evolving into a permanent part-time (3 days a week) or even a full time position.
The role would involve conducting fire marshal/fire warden, fire awareness and practical fire extinguisher training at client’s sites throughout the Thames Valley (sometimes further afield) as well as at our own premises in Didcot, Oxfordshire.
You would need the ability to deliver high quality training sessions to a varying number of client staff via power point/projector, and using a range of other delivery techniques. The sessions need to be engaging and interesting, to ensure that good knowledge and understanding are acquired by the delegates.
Familiarisation in the use of live fire rigs is preferred but not essential as training can be provided. The role would suit somebody who may have previously served within the Fire & Rescue Service or has had ‘hands on’ experience within this area.
The successful applicant may need to develop new training courses to meet the needs of the industry and where necessary, update existing courses to ensure they are kept relevant. There will also be the opportunity to engage with previous clients who might need a training session for new staff or a refresher course.
Strong communication skills and a “customer first” approach are important, as is good preparation and attention to detail.
Although full support is available from our office staff, the ability to work alone or as part of a team and a proven record of being able to manage time and prioritise tasks is essential.
Red Box Fire Control have built an excellent reputation with clients and also across the fire industry over more than 30 years, so we would look to the successful candidate to uphold and build on this.
Company uniform and competitive rates of pay apply.
